Problems installing Direct X 9c

Hey,

I encountered a problem with Gothic 3, asking me for a d3d.dll file (d3dx9_29.dll).

My first port of call was to reinstall DirectX 9c. However during the installation i receive an error message stating:

"The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo Testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP

Please contact your systems adminstrator"

The version of Direct X I am attempting to install was released from the Microsoft Website on the 5th Jan 2007. I am installing from the Microsoft website.

Has anyone encountered this before.?

I worked my way down through the methods described, although i couldnt complete 1 & 3 due to syntax errors!

Method 4: Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

This worked a dream.
Now managed to install DirectX 9c now
