All the folders in blue that start with"$"

anyone know if the folders under "C:\Windows\$~..." can be deleted without windows freaking out?

you gotta be kidding, that's a half gig in those folders. i'm aware of the dll cache, but all that sh*t needs to be there?

If all the patches installed did not disturb your O/S negatively, there is no problem deleting them.

Uh... am I missing something? I deleted the hf_mig folder but nothing happened. Looks like some patches were stored there...

That folder is a record of updates that were successfully installed, so that the MS Update server knows what patches to send (or not to send) to your machine.

If you go to Windows Update, it will want to re-install all those patches it didn't find listed in that file.
