Latest Microsoft Patch Destroyed Several software programs

Ohhh man, here we go the patch Security update 927978 for MSXML 4.0 totally hosed my PC. The patch came in through auto update. The first problem I noticed is that it kept reinstalling. After about the ten time I decided to reboot. Same problem - went to MS knowledge base found article MS06-071 that says "does not support the complete removal of MSXML 4.0 because this version of MSXML is installed in side-by-side mode." Well isnt that nice!!! I followed the instructions to manually install and rebooted. NOW all office apps, MS Student, Encarta, Learning essentials will not work. I get a "need CD to configure prompt but when I isert the CD the configuration cant complete it error's out. BEWARE
