Maybe, but try using your Verizon phone in China, or the Dominican Republic,
or the Philippines, or Europe, or practically anywhere not in the US and
Canada. At least with my quadband Cingular phone I can actually maintain
contact when I travel.

I would suggest you are in a VERY small minority that travels so much.
