Hi Guys
I wanted to know if i should upgrade my whole computer or just ugrade some parts. I just can't make a decision on what i really want. I use this computer to play online or run application. I been playing BF2 with my computer. I am thinking of upgrading to core2duo e6400. I don't overclock my computer so overclocking it is not a must for now. But will preffered a mobo that can be overclock even though i wll not overclock it. I will be using most of the time to play games. So far i have the video card already. I have evga 7900 GT CO 256MB DDr3..

I think you will find that you already have the answer to you subject... If you want to upgrade to a Core2Duo and you already have the video card, you only need M/B RAM and processor, the e6400's are good i got one, but depending on your budget a e4300 would be ok as well as going a little higher with an e6450. M/B i always stick with ASUS as ive never had an issue with them and RAM well as long as they are known theres never too much of an issue but id be getting at least 2gb

The E6600 has just dropped in price these days, that's also a good idea. As for RAM, get 2 GB. Upgrade to 4 GB later, when Vista and nVidia's drivers for Vista are less buggy, use XP until then.

Looks like the only usable things are the video card and XP if you have the disk. You don't list drives or monitor, they are ok, but you need to know what will work with them, such as IDE port needed. Agree that waiting a week will be best to see what comes out for Intel.

So far i have a full version of windows vista business from my university and also a full version of xp pro from the university. I am planning to dual triple booth. vista, xp, linux. Anyways i am going to buy hdd also. since the price has dropped i am going to get e6600 and what mobo will be good to get with it. and also rams. that will be compatible. i will be going for 2gs. i am going to use my existing hdd which is a ide and also my dvd-rw drive and video card.

The reason i don't list the monitor is that i have all those already. The things that i mention are the things i want to upgrade.

A good, cheap board is the Gigabyte DS3 ver3.3. It only has 1 IDE port, so 2 devices. 1 HD and the DVD is ok, make sure the new stuff is SATA. Get DDR2-800. G-skill has good stuff and it works in all setups up to mild overclock.
