LAN Gaming Help

Hi, i know some networking and have enabled all exept netware on my network connections.

on 1 pc i have got Bitdefender
on the other is Kaspersky.
i am trying to play Command & Conquer 3 Over LAN.

1 pc can see the other and see games but cannot join.
1 cannot see the other pc or see games.

any help would be appreciated.

Can it be a firewall between the two computers?
If youre using windows there is a builtin firewall that might need som help opening for some programs.

Might be diffrent ports for setting up the game and playing the actual game.
I always use ip for all my games and has removed all microsoft network and printersharing in order to make it harder to break in to the computer.

Is it possible to connect to the game from the computer hosting the game?

windows firewall is disabled, i have enabled all access throught the installed firewalls on both computers.
both running XP SP2 fully updated...
i have managed to play a game via hamachi over my lan but still 1 pc cannot see the other. and the other can see and join my games.
very confusing, i think i may just give up and stick with hamachi.
but its just annoying that i dont know what it is :S
