have installed rc1 on several different computer builds, put together
just to try it,,, lowest is a amd 1400 cpu with a ati rage 128 gpu
worked but until i install a dx9 gpu won't know about areo
but ran ok otherwise,,works fine on amd 2800+ with 1 gig and
a ati 9600,, gaming is just ok,,best computer I have it on
is a dual core with 2 gig ram,, so so gpu ,,, seems to be ok
not any crashes that can be sure are os caused,, use it for
multitude of things
Then again I run xeon 3.2 w/ 3gb ram
and 1.3TB, and I crash often in Vista ultimate
Something wrong with you or your PC then.
well things I think which are effecting it.
I have a lot of divx, which is a known bug.
I'm a heavy multi tasker...my biggest annoyance is w/in Firefox. So I multi task....and I usually have 2-3 windows with 10-30tabs per window. Every so often, it goes into 'not responding' I look @ task manager, and yes it's using about 1gb of VM, but there's no cpu usage and I have general memory limited 300mb, which auto clears when it hits 80% use.
I don't game often, and haven't bothered to install on this system. I'm not running any AV, so that's not the issue.
if you have an M$ technet plus or MSDN subscription, you could get the final (green) Vista about late november/early december. It's distributed to developer at the same time it's sent to manufacturers & cd/dvd printers.
what I mean is games run ok,, not great but that is due
to last gen gpu but run oblivian on 2800 with ati x700 and its
good, not great but good and gothic 3 is also ok
older games are unknown,, ds2 is also good,,
( good equel playable frame rates and detail just
medium not high )
also using vista rc1 and rc2 just recieved vista bussineess
at work,,, head IT won't deploy it said I could be tester
