buying new cpu need help

You tell me. The X2 6000 is slightly faster, and is over a hundred dollars cheaper than the fx-62. I would definitely get the x2 6000.

Advantages... Both are top of the line AMD chips.... the 6000+ is clocked higher... but the fx-62 has unlocked multiplier.. Upgrade path to agena/barcy

Dis.. Compares to an e6600 at stock... but the c2d Oc headroom takes the cake...



If i was to get another am2 athlon x2 now.. I would get something cheap and OC it.. and wait for barcy/agena..

But I wouldn't get an x2 now.. id go c2d with the budget of an Fx-62 or a 6000+... or wait for barcy.... Mhmm wait for barcy...

You could wait for Barcelona, which is going to be available in July/August, or somewhere around there. But there's nothing wrong with an x2 6000. If you don't want to overclock, or you already have an am2 board, then it's a good processor to go with. If you have the patience to wait for Barcelona, then be it. Or you can always buy the x2 3600 brisbane, overclock it to 2.8-3.0 ghz, and get a Barcelona processor when they release.

yea.. as much as I might hate to admit it.. C2D might be a better option for a ground up system.. But if you are smart and go AMD the above sugestions are ideal.... buy a cheap OC and wait.... buy a 6000+ and be happy, or just wait till june/julyish..

keep in mind.... the equal performance intel solutions run less than the 6000+.. but as I want to believe and hope will be the case in the future. AMD FTW 8)
