Ok I really need some help.

Not long ago i installed some windows updates and it made my compute go into a loop with a blue screen with writing on everytime it was just about to load windows up proper.

I couldn't even get onto safe mode or last known good config.....

I took the drive out and copied everything I wanted elsewhere then reformatted and reinstalled windows.

Everything was fine for like 3 weeks then I turn my computer off last night and this morning I have the same problem :(

Is my hard drive broke?

Cheers,

Thom.

Your hard drive is fine.

You've experienced corruption to a critical device driver (or the Registry) some how.

Try a repair install and post back if you're functioning, or not.

Pop in the XP - the first screen that offers a repair you hit Enter, NOT "R".

The second screen that offers to repair an existing Windows is what you go for.

Ok I put in my XP Home disk and booted from that.

It has 3 options:-

setup

repair (pressing r)

quit

I press enter like you said, instead of r.
Then the license agreement comes up and I need to press f in order to continue.

I'm not given any more options repair it just asks me which way I want to format for the reinstall of windows.

Am I missing something?

It is the same with both xp disks that I own.

I don't know where you mean to repair it the second time.

:(

After you press F8 to accept the license agreement, the next screen offers to repair an existing Windows installation.
