hi i was just wondering what the highest stable overclock for this video card would be? i have googled a few times but some people say in excess of 1000mhz which obviously cant be because its stock clock is 500mhz. cooling is no problem, just wondering about max overclock?? Thanks.

Is it the ddr or the ddr2 version. I had a G6600 256mb version with the ddr ram on it, on stock speeds it ran 300/500.
I got it to 550/550 (wich was a very nice increase in performance :D )

If the stock clock is 500MHz then it is a 6600GT

Without serious voltmods and cooling, you might get up to around 575-600MHz.

The vanilla 6600 is the same GPU just lower clocked, (300MHz standard) and will often hit similar clocks.

hey thanks for your replies. it is a 256mb ddr, not ddr 2 unfortunatlly. it has hynix ram on it which i heard is not very good for overclocking. my mistake, it is 500mhz effective. so im guessing 250mhz. its alli have for the moment and i wanna get max performance out of it before i throw it on hte scrap heap, never to be used again. i looking at an x1950xt atm.
I may be able to put a very large cpu heat sink on it that will keep it very cool, i think il try it and see how far i get.

Ah, you are talking about the RAM, I thought you meant the GPU ;)
