Heyall.

I've got two computers, one running Windows and one Linux, and I want them to share my internet connection. The connection is 100Mbps and I mainly use it for gaming and remote work via SSH. Occasional P2P (torrents and DC) useage exists and I will probably host various types of servers on the Linux machine eventually.

Got any recommendations for some inexpensive, hassle-free routers? Wireless, VoIP and stuff like that are not necessary. I'm considering buying a D-Link DI-604, but don't know if it's any good.

Also, should I stick to cat5e cables or is there any actual gain in buying cat6?

Stick to cat5e. No advantage to cat6 for home (or even business) use, except in very specialized situations (very high noise, etc.).

You actually have a 100Mbps internet connection?

Ok, Cat5e it is. Any router recs?

Yeah, 100Mbps down. Only 10Mbps up though. Pretty common around here.
