I have one Gainward 8800 GTS with 640 MB.My card run : GPU core to 513 Mhz and GPU memory to 792 (Factory shipped clock frequencies ). I see in nTune my card have temperature 67-70C to idle and 79-84C to full load(3d games). Is the temperature of my card normal or high?

It is EXTREMELY high. I would either RMA it or get a new heatsink/fan. Your card may suffer some damage if it continues to run at that temperature.

It's quite normal. 8800s have been getting high temps. My X1900GT gets 80C under load most of the time. Nothing to worry about.

Thats ok in my books, my 6800gt GPU core temp is 66-76 idle and while playing titan quest is 103-110 and thats with a extra fan i have on top of the gpu.
cpu 33/91 c/f
PS nothing over clocked.
going like that for 2-3 years no problems

I think it's ok. I get similar temps. I lowered my temps(including CPU) by 5 degrees or so by instaling this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999704 slot cooler. Mount it under the vga card, leaving an open slot between the slot cooler and the card if you can. It has a speed adjusting knob so you can trade off cfm vs. noise. It works by immediately expelling the hot air that leaks out of the four slits in the vga cooler instead of letting it recurculate.

My temps are about 50C idle, and not sure about load, but i also have a 25cm side fan so...

most gpu's can potentially run up to 115, so you don't really have much to worry about. Obviously if you can cool it down a bit it wont hurt.

WOW! 50! Your post brings up some questions.
1) Do you run your fans at minimum?, I do, so perhaps that explains some of the difference.
2) I measure the temps with NVIDIA monitor; how do you get your temps?
3) Room temp right now is 28/29, a bit warm and the gpu is 73. Are you in a much cooler room?
4) The case looks like a very good cooler, how is it with noise?

This is only the millionth time someone has asked this about the G80's and yeah it's pretty normal to idle around 60 and load around 80. If you are really worried about it get the Thermalright HR-03 Plus. Since you have a GTS and not a GTX though you'll have to send them a copy of your receipt for the modified HSI chip or just mod the GTX one. Believe me it's a simple mod.

I think we need a thread of every temperature of the geforce from the 6series to the 8 series.Everyone should post their graphics card temperature for references purposes.

Ya i measure it with the nvidia monitor.

My room is around 22-25, warm to me 8)

My fans are allat max all the time, becuase they are all large and make little noise. As for the cooler tself i haven't figured out where to change the fan speed, so it is on auto i assume.

My case looks cool and performs just as well  Very quiet to me, i sleep beside it, but it bothers my mom, but everything bothers her sooo...

You should be fine with those temps.GPU'S are designed a bit differently than cpu's and are capable of handling much higher temps. As long as you're not getting any artifacting from it,then don't worry about it.Have fun.

My fan set is to 60%.Adjust GPU settings in nTune not work.So i cant set up more than 60% the fan set.Maybe i will use Rivatuner but i think Rivatuner cant support the 8800 and i have fear for any concflict with nvidia drivers.Anyone know why the options to Adjust GPU settings is disable to nTune?I think if i set up the fan to 80% maybe i decrease the temperature 7-10C.

Hi everyone.
My eVGA 8800GTS 320MB (500@1600) is running with the following temperature:
Idle: 57ºC
Running: I don't know yet! I just received from mail.

I had to install this coller:
evercoolxq2.jpg

Before that, I was getting about 67ºC in Idle state.
When I set the fan to 70% load the temperature drops 2C, to 55ºC

Here is my cooling:
- One 80mm coller puting air to inside (in case's front) / Air Flow : 32.4 CFM
- One 80mm coller taking off air from inside (in cases's back) / Air flow : 32.4 CFM.
- One Blower Fan above listed (in the lower PCI slot available) / Air flow : 60CFM.
- One CPU Fan Stock (from Intel box) / Air flow : ???.

My 8800GTS is in the second pci slot TOP.
The Blower Fan is 2 pci slots from 8800GTS card.

This is my cooling system:

I hope that help you guys.
I don't know if 55ºC is good enough, but will be stay like that.

My system:
Pentium D 925 3Ghz Dual Core
ASUS P5VD2-X
1Gb DDR2 533
eVGA 8800GTS 320Mb
IDE 20+40Gb
PSU Spire RockeTeer III 500W
