I have recently finished putting my computer together, mostly new components, Mobo, Processor, Vid card, RAM, power supply... etc. I finally got my Bios to detect my DVD Rom drive and my hard drive, but it won't seem to boot from my HD. My Bios boot priority has the HD first, so I don't know what is wrong, it boots from my Dvd just fine.

Is the hd from an old rig? If so, it's not going to boot on new hardware.

Is it IDE or SATA? If IDE, is it jumpered as Master (CableSelect if it's a Dell) and plugged into one end of the ribbon and into the Primary IDE connection on the mobo?

Almost always set the boot priority as cd drive, floppy, hd. If the first two are empty, bootup will follow the list to the hard drive.
