I have a friend who recently bought a 7600GT (good card...he likes it) and can't figure out how to turn off the shared system memory (i.e. the turbocache function). Currently its set to share 256 megs of memory which is really chewing into his 1Gb of memory especially since he's running it on Vista.
Anyone here know how to turn this function off?

Any help or tips on this would be greatly appreciated

Did he uninstall the old drivers for integrated graphics?
Also, check the BIOS. You can set the primary display to pci-e.

The 7600 uses TurboCache, i thought only low end cards had those

try rivatuner
it has a nifty function that allows the user to set manually the amount of memory shared...
hope this helps

No 7600GT I have seen uses Turbocache. Do what Taboo said and check the BIOS for the integrated. Also make sure he actually has a GT and not a GS or lower.

I disabled Turbocache on my 7300GS. Here's what I did:

Sorry to bring this thread up, but i'm having trouble with disableing the turbocache with my 7300GS. (dopyii's suggestion)

Rivatuner says the driver i'm using (latest) has no database, so i cannot proceed to disable the funtion.

Halp! Plzz
