Hello, should have asked before buying :)

I Have purchased the following config. mainly to run design software (Autocad, Revit, Photoshop,..) at varsity.
Any views if it will perform well?

From my years working in a GIS shop, graphics card capability, frontside bus speed, and hard drive read/write speeds are what really make a difference; then comes RAM and its latency and CPU -- yeah, you should have asked -- cores do not matter as much as the combo of MHz and cache in a CPU. A real workstation running multiple grahics-hungry programs at once on a network will be best served by dual-processor mobo and high RPM hdd(s) and probably more than one high-end GPU with 8 or more GBs of RAM. In toto, it depends . . .
