Hey guys, I hope you can help me out with a little advice...

I'm using 2 PCs with 1 monitor at the mo. It works fine, but I don't want the extra keyboard and mouse cluttering up my desk any more, so I'm looking at buying a KVM (keyboard video mouse) switch.

I read KVMs can give flakey connections to monitors, and since both my PCs have DVI connections I'd like to use them if possible. I'd also like the KVM to have USB connections for keyboard and mouse and maybe one or two extra USB ports to share a printer & ext h/drive with both PCs. Audio is optional for me. I'd like to spend less than £100/$200 inc cables. Oh, and I'm UK based (if it makes any difference!).

Also, if anyone has any general KVM experience/advice I'd really like to hear it. :)

Just one quick example. I don't know what is available in the UK but I'm sure they are there.

I've had pretty good luck with KVM's with soft switches that can be reset on the fly, but they were 8-port or more. The only time I had problems of, for example, mouse freezing was using a KVM I had two older cobbled together PC's on it. My newer servers and PC's on quality KVM's worked fine.

I know it's 6 days since the the question was asked but I've been away for a bit, have you tried Craplin's? http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=48548&doy=29m4

You will need to get cables and maybe even a 9v/500mv power adapter but it does work ok, the only issue I've had is that one of my rigs uses an Abit mobo which refuses to 'see' a KVM if it is connected to the ps2 ports regardless of which make of KVM is used however this was cured by using a ps2 to usb converter like this one :- http://www.directusbstore.co.uk/cnb...catalogue-product_info-null&prodCategoryID=24

Good luck
