Hello :)

I was wondering...
With an intel E6420, a evga GF 8800 GTS 320 MB PCI-E, a PCI soundcard, a SATA HD (500 GB or 300 GB havent decided yet), IDE CD/DVD/HD (that's 3 things), and DDR2 800 mhz (since people say its better for that intel or maybe Im just crazy -and I mean 800)

With all of that in mind... what do you guys thing is a good Mobo, provided that I wont overclock anything, at all, never ever?

Im new to the Intel world and Im confused with Intel chipsets and other manufacturer's chipsets :? (Since I never saw AMD chipsets ya know?)
So I'd say you have to buy an Intel MoBo but I see people going for Asus etc... Before I'd simply look at "Hey I have AGP so I need one slot, and I have PCI Card so I need PCI and I have X-socket AMD CPU, so I need that socket" and thats it...
But now with FSB (What is that!!!) and DDR2 300-500-800, there is a lot of confussion on my mind and dont have idea where to start, hence Im making this post.

Please help me out with something that works for what's above :)

PD: Im not sure about he E6420... I could also get a E4320 if I just cant spare the cash (anyway, both are the 4 MB cache ones).

Thanks soooo mcuh for your time :)

Hey Adambomb42, thanks for the suggestion :)

However I saw a customer review

"Please be careful with the RAM. The manual specifically says DDR2-ram of 1.8v."

Mmm am I fine with 800 Mhz or should I run away from specific brand or? Because I dont wanna screw it :P

Thanks!

When this motherboard came out it was only able to boot with ram set to 1.8v. However, ever since there has been a fix and you should be fine with memory rated higher...

A good middle end c2d cpu would be a 6300, if you're stuck between a 4300 and 6400.

Mmm... now you left me thinking...
Do you think a E6420 is A LOT better than a E6320?
Where Im getting them from (amazon, and Im stuck with it ;) International credit cards ;)), the price difference is about 30 bucks... might not seem much but Im on a budget to every squeeze is worth it ;)

Thanks for your time :)

It all depends on what your using the CPU for. If you're not overclocking, then I would get the e6420 or the e4400 due to the higher clock speeds. Never hurts to have a little more power from the system. It will especially help with games and various other apps.

Thanks.
I actually made a whole topic devoted to my question on the right forum... I still have some doubts on why Intel sells something for about $60 US less (4400) that can "easily" be OC'ed to match the speed of a stock 6420... maybe its the fact then you can overclock the 6420 to 6600 then that's the $60 US price difference but Im still trying to figure it out :?
