I just got the XFX 8600GT XXX, its soso in Dx9 games better then the 7600GT but that its, i thought it will perform good in the future DX10 games but i remember there was a Nvidia DX10 demo ( Cascade ) There was a Lite Version for the 8600, i runned it and i got very disappointed more then 1024 resolution it lag like hell, even at 1024 resolution without any A-filter or AA of course it lagged when it came too close to the waterfall in bug camera mode. I wish its not going to be that ugly graphic and that lag in the DX10 Games with a 8600GT because what the point to create a product like that.

Should have asked our opinion first dude, the 8600 GT is a terrible upgrade from the 7600 GT that performs only slightly worse.

It's not about Dx10, it's about raw performance and the 8600 GT doesn't have it...

I upgraded it from a 7300GS, i was comparing it with a 7600GT because my friend have one. And for 169$CAD im not too much disappointed.

Ah.
Canadian prices, from a 7300GS, that's not so bad at all.

At 88 cents/dollar the prices are not that different after all. But yeah, he should've listened to you :P

Look at it this way, at least you can play DX10 games and you have the hardware for it, your friend on the other hand :P

Look at it this way, at least you hypothetically can play DX10 games and you technically have the hardware for it, your friend on the other hand will keep gaming on his 7600GT with about the same performance you get, and later go buy a much better card for the same money you spent when such games cause him to do so.

Hahaha, I love it =)

The 8600 GT is not a good card with the X1950XT at ~170$, but its the best of the 8600's.
Download RivaTuner and overclock the Geometry and Shader Core segments together, and make it into an 8600 GTS or better.
Are there any coolers that work with the 8600's?

Ugh, the 8600GT is a piss poor DX10 card. How Nvidia could have made the 8600GT and 8500GT so terrible is beyond me, considering how good the 8800 cards are.
