pesonally I say pro with 32bit, I have had home before and will never go back to it again, tho they suppose to be the same for my purposes, running multiple software and etc, home did not do.

so I recommend pro others will say home, you decide at the end ;)

XP Pro it is then! But why 32bit and not 64bit? I was leaning towards Pro as it seems like the gaming standard OS.

Is there something wrong with the 64bit version?

Thanks.

lack of driver support for 64bit is the problem you will run into problems when trying to run/install some apps.

I too concur with 32-bit.

But I'd say go with Home versus Pro because it's cheaper than pro and you'll never use the advanced features that Pro has. Unless you're setting up a dual-CPU workstation (I said dual-cpu, not dual-core cpu), or using the IIS features, you don't need Pro.

edklite: What did you run into with Home that you needed Pro for?

lol I have had this discussion already, some apps won't work with home. but as I said that is just my opinion, but if you are just gonna use it for games and regular stuff home is fine, personally I like to only advise what I would do myself and I would get the pro.

What apps do NOT work with Pro?? The only difference between the two are network permissions and dual CPU support.

If you dont need the above, Home is the way to go. Home runs everything that Pro does! Its the same kernal!!
