Hey all. 12/10/05 I built my first gaming rig for $800.
AMD Athlon 3500+clawhammer
eVGA 6800xt
2gb corsair value
ecs kn1 sli extreme..... worked ok i guess.... had some issue...

I want to build a mostly gaming rig, internet... no video editing or mathematical intense stuff. I cant decide between Intel or AMD. I'm looking at the 7600gt as i see no need for 2 8800gtxs in SLI. Not sure what to get. I may overclock a little. I want it to last at least 2 years. Any advice would be appreciated..

I think you stick a dual-core and another 6800XT in that board and see what happens. With an Opty 170 and your same card I kissed 50K in Aquamark3. I am awaiting two 7600GT's for SLI mode. I'm running an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. :)

Cyber's suggestion sounds like a good plan, least amount of omoney for a lot of improvement. If the card was Pci, then maybe a newer MB, but when you would have to replace to get a little more, try the route ^^^ and then decide.
