Any ideas of problem or fix ?

The proxy server settings for IE are set by a domain policy. When I log on, it works fine, setting the proxy settings correctly. After a while (30mins to 2 hours or so), frequently the proxy settings get cleared, and thus you can no longer access internet sites.

Any idea how to stop IE7 losing it's proxy settings ?

Thanks,
Darzil

It sounds like there is a dodgy group policy being applied.
Open a command prompt and type GPRESULT

This will show you all the group policies being applied to your PC
A verbose output detailing the applied settings is obtained by typing:

GPRESULT /V

Try typing: GPRESULT /V > C:\TEMP\GPRESULT.TXT

Open C:\TEMP\GPRESULT.TXT in Notepad and look for Proxie entries.

Your Domain Administrator should be able to fix this.
Are you the only one with this issues ?

It's not only me, it's also a colleague with IE7 (which hasn't been generally rolled out).

The Domain group policies haven't been changed for IE7, but the proxy settings stay in IE6, and are applied correctly on logon in IE7, but don't stick.
