I use the old built-in backup utility to back my files and settings up on my external hard drive. Does Vista have such a utility so that I could install Vista on my machine and recover all my old files from the compressed backup files on my external HDD? Or should I just copy and paste the my documents folder to my external HDD before installing Vista?
I found the backup utility last night and it looks like the same one from XP. However, I haven't used Windows Backup for at least 2 editions now so I don't have anything to test it with. But at least in theory, it should be the same I would think.
I just copied and pasted my documents when I upgraded and it was quicker to weed through later.
