Global Chat

* Fixed bug that was causing the Chat Server to crash occasionally.

Temporary Powers

* The Nemesis Staff: Fixed bug that gave the Nemesis Staff far too long
a range. The Nemesis Staff is now awarded at the end of a mission rather
than in the middle of one.

And for an interesting point to show that it was, indeed, overpowered, find
references on the Justice Server forum to the sg that took down Hamidon
with a strat centered around the Nemesis Staff.

Yeah...I just feel kinda sorry though for all those people who just
thought it was a really neat gizmo. Like a level 38 friend of mine,
who designed a whole "Nemesis armor" costume slot to use with it.

I wish they'd make it available as an Accolade. Even if it didn't
fire very often, it would still be cool to whip out and wave around.

During the Saturday Mitos takedown event on Protector, someone on
broadcast offered that gambit up.

It was quashed rather quickly.

Later on, most people agreed that holding that particular temp power
long into the +40s was a sure sign of someone that really needs to get
out and do their own missions.

Or as one person said:
(paraphrased)
'Look, Pl'r, wait for the attack and attack.'

Ok, someone clue me in here. Last time I got the staff was months ago,
sometime around Issue 2, with my controller. While an AoE knockback was
nice and fun it only did about 4 points of damage, giving it something
like a .5 brawl index and meaning you couldn't kill anything with it.

So when did it change do do actual damage? Plus I can't recall the range
being anything more than normal on it. It looked nice, but didn't do a
whole lot.

Around issue 3 all temporary powers got a ridiculously huge upgrade in
damage. For instance the Sands of Mu is the equivalent of a scrapper's
Shadow Maul, and now it does around the damage of that attack slotted
with 6 damage so's. It used to be more like an unslotted Shadow Maul.

I recall the Nemesis Staff being pretty potent, about the same as my
Haymaker at the time. That would have been early in Issue 3, IIRC.

It used to be very weak, it got upgraded substantially.

Shadeling had it and it was, at that time, little more than an AOE
ranged brawl.
When Kraiisahka got it on the other hand, it did substantial damage -
substantial as in more than her regular attacks, AND ranged AOE.

It's ridiculous now, and that's the only reason the "strategy" of using
it on Amoeba boy ever developed.

Once again the devs make a stupid change for no reason and wonder why
people take advantage of it.
