Help with software probs with vista (ult)

Hey all, just installed Vista ultimate x64 on my PC and I'm having a few problems.

1.) Nero won't install. I've tried both nero lite and the regular version, both are the latest version. lite will install but when i try to run it, it gives me an error that says it can't run and to check to make sure nero has full read/write privilages in the registry. it's like hkeylocal machine>software>ahead>nero.

The problem is, that path doesn't even exist on my PC, not to mention user account control access thing is turned off.

Plus i have a "Nero" in my install/uninstall programs that won't go away. I've tried nero's cleaning utility, and when i right click it, it doesn't give any options.

2.) FEAR Won't install. Well it did install, and it said everything went fine, but when i went to play, there's no fear.exe that was installed. I've tried to reinstall twice, same thing...

Also, when i go to install it it tells me i need to install direct x 9.0c, i have DX10 right now obviously, so why is it wanting to install DX9? shouldn't i be able to play DX9 games with a DX10 OS and video cards? This could be the source of the problem but i doubt it.

3.) It seems my PC doesn't want to do any soft restarts. It was earlier today, but maybe between windows updates and new 8800 drivers, it stopped, i can't pinpoint it. Basically, windows will shut down and everything, the screen will go black, and then my monitor will go in standby like it's getting no signal, but physically my PC won't restart or shutdown.

I Don't know if this is a software or a hardware issue, but I'd assume software as it was working fine on XP.

system is:

C2D x6800
evga 680i
2 8800 GTX
4gb ocz ram
vista ultimate x64

Any light on any of the issues is appreciated, even if someone else is having the same problems.

Um, I did. It says nero works and it says fear works, but i'm having trouble. Unless you saw something i didn't?

Maybe you could elaborate a little sometimes.
