I have a dlink router, all the troubleshooting didnt work , the cable modem works directly connected to my computer! and it it will work on this main computer when hooked up to the router also for the 8 seconds and disconnect and then reconnect for another 8 seconds, and it constantly does this, ive unplugged everything over night but yet it doesnt fix the problem and the router doesnt stay on long enough to give my other computer a signal (wirelessly) Can anyone give me some advice on what to do please????? ( ive also tried resetting it several several times! )

first just disable the connection thing.. then there should be like a reset button on the back of ur router... press it and hold for like 2-3 seconds make sure all the lights in the front flash.. and look like its reseting.. then enable connection and try it..
