I am building a new PC, this is my 2nd one - first one went ok but not great, could never get front USB stuff to work or microphone etc on the front, hopefully this time will work better!
The computer I am looking for is 75% my main work PC and 25% my enterainment pc (games etc). For games I play RTS (c&c3 etc) and a bit of FPS.
As for unusual aspect, I have 4 monitors so need 2 graphics cards. I was thinking of going directx 10, to get vista to work using aero i would need both cards to use same driver so this has influenced the choice of cards.
I have no idea what motherboard to get. I just know it needs an 16x slot and an 8x slot where a dual size card in thr 16x slow does not affect the 8x slot. Also, needs to support 4GB ram (now, I am hearing about buggy boards that can't handle 4 sticks).
That should be about it. I am open to any/all suggestions on the build.
