Okay, maybe I'm missing something, or perhaps M$'s flight simulator X is a bit more mysterious than I think, but on the VGA charts below

http://www23.tomshardware.com/grap [...] &chart=351

a dual 6600 (128mb) beats out a dual x1950 xt setup? Is something wrong here? In other games, things seem fine. What's the deal with FS-X? I wouldn't say it looks so nice that a crossfire x1950xt setup won't get more than 20fps at 1280x1024 without any AA or AF (that's what the results in the VGA charts say). What's the deal? I mean, the SLI dual 8800GTS only gets 23fps without any AA or AF--who the hell is going to buy a game that won't display playable fps's on the most top-of-the-line hardware out? Am I missing something...? Or are the charts wrong?

Wow, those can't be right. A 7900GT scoring the same as 8800GTX (at 1280x1024). A 8800GTX beating a single 6800GT by only 10FPS!!! It is a high res game and will eventually be DX10, but that doesn't explain why 8800GTX=7900GT!!!!!

(edit)
If those are correct, the only explanation I see is that it is CPU bound, but I imagine they are using a core 2 in the test, so that would be insane.

I think all of the reported configurations are dual-card, so it's a dual-6600 and a dual-x1950. But still--it doesn't make sense. Even at 1600x1200 with in-game AA and AF, there's only 1 FPS difference between the two. I still don't get it...

All the flight sim benches seem to cap around 23 (compare the 1920x1200 benches). All it really measures at that point is randomness. It could be cpu bound but who knows.

True, it could be limited to the power of the CPU--but these were tested with a Core 2 Extreme X6800--by far the most powerful general-use processor today--While not impossible, I find it very hard to believe that a game will really be limited by the X6800 CPU. But it could be possible. I noticed the same trend in FPS--all around 20-ish, but I just couldn't believe that could be the case. Anyway, we'll see if things change...
