Hello all,

I'm planning my new build and i hear that this OS is RAM hungry so my question is, is 2GBs enough ram or should i get 3GB - 4GBs?

I haven't hit any walls with 1 gig, but I know 2 would be beneficial. I'd say 2 should be enough for a while, maybe a couple of years or so.

Yeah, I currently have only 1GB but planning on upping to 2 when I upgrade to Vista. You have to also consider 3D gaming too, if you play any on your PC. With that said I may go up to 2.5, I don't know.

Even with moderate gaming, I have had absolutely no problems on 2G. That should be enough unless if you want 4G with the 64Bit installation.

I've had the same experience myself. I may go up to 4 gigs if I decide to run 64 bit vista after SP1

My wifes laptop has 1gb and I have 2gb, both are running Premium. Hers
runs it fine, but mine is noticably quicker. Go with 2gb.

I'm running 2gb and she seems fine. I'm using the Corsair 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 Memory with EPP

Just a heads up I found Corsair PRO LED 800 mhz PC 6400 modules at Fry's .com for 239.99 for the 2 gig kits (5-5-5-12). They say special order, so I think it might take a little longer to get them but it's a great deal. http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4 [...] oCzlYelHuA

I' running on 1.5gb and its realy smooth. noticably smoother then xp
