For months now, the financial debate about AMD, Intel etc has been discussed on and off. Sometime Nvidia and others have been brought into conversation too.

With the recent AMD takeover of ATI and subsequent financial challenges, the forum is cluttered with nothing but finance discussion posts. Normally, this could be ok except that the majority of them are made by people without the first clue about what they're talking about (ok, so maybe not too dis-similar to other forums then, but bear me out ;) ).

Why not consider a seperate forum for PC / Hardware / Consoles / Software financial debates, all under one roof, and keep this forum clean for what it was supposed to discuss - CPUs, not the creative accounting of the firms that happen to make CPUs along with countless other products?

Right or wrong, Discuss!

I agree with logainofhades - just look at any given time - how many of the threads belong in Homebuilt, Overclocking or Vid Cards - not to mention "Other". While there are too many financial threads, it is currently news and topical.

I, for one, am enjoying the market information being shared by knowledgeable posters such as Periander and Superfly03.

well as long as related to cpu is fine w/me... this type of subject swings ebb and flow, plus this forum has enough categories unused as it is it borders on ridiculuos.

I agree. It doesn't really necessitate its own section seeing as its a seasonal (or quarterly, but who's gonna nitpick about it anyway) issue.
