Looking at getting a quadro, but have very little idea about workstation cards.

Currently eyeing the Quadro FX 1500.
Is this a good choice for a mid-range workstation card?
is there a better choice/competitive ATI FireGL card? etc.
Any help much appreciated.

What are you doing with them?

There is currently nothing better than the High end Quadro, but they are expensive.

However, if you look at the Rivatuner site, it appears that people have been able to mod the gaming GeForce 8800s into the new multi-thousand dollar Quadros.

So you may want to check that route, nothing even comes close to those.

The FX1500 is expensive so unless you need the certified workstation, I'd go the moded/gaming card route and save yourself a few bucks.

As to which brand is better for the mid and low end, that depends alot on the applications. Once fo the better reviews recently is that from Xbit;
