Need a custom computer quick

I need a new computer quick
I have these components already:
EVGA 8800 GTS - 640
300 gig SATA hard drive
2 gig DDr2 800 Ram
VISTA

so obviously, I need a barebones system to put them in
I want a descent processor, and I had a 4200+ X2, so I need something significantly faster
like a X@ 6000+, or possibly the E6600 that seems to be so popular, but I dont really know the difference

I will not be OCing the system
I use the internet mostly, but also some gaming (C&C 3)
I will not be doing any SLI either

and I think I need a MB that supports the 800 ram...

I prefer to buy something already made up that I can add video,HD DR, and ram to

possibly this: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-Athlon-64-x2-6000-Dual-Core-ASUS-M2N4-SLI-Deluxe_W0QQitemZ220104819260QQihZ012QQcategoryZ140076QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

any help at all would be appreciated!!

The mobo and CPU are up to you!
  2. This is one of the places where Dell can shine. Sometimes (usually in their "business listings"), you can find very good deals on "bare bones" systems.

Basically, find one that is on special, put minimal RAM and smallest HD in (Dell overcharges for those) and you can get a barebones for a very good price. The one caveat is that Dell uses (or used to anyway) custom cases and motherboards so upgrading motherboards is virtually impossible.
  3. anyone else with a good idea?

I also found this one: http://www.ascendtech.us/customkititems.asp?kc=DTBBC2DE6600240
  4. 2 motherboard choices:

    Ecs P4m900t-M Lga775 1066fsb Pci-E Sata
    Asus P5l-Mx 945g 1066fsb Pcie Ddr2 Sata2

is it worth paying the extra $50 to get the ASUS?
  5. I build custom computers on the side. Do you want me to build you one?
  6. Neither board is very good, ECS is low quality and that Asus board has a 945P chipset which probably means it is a microATX MOBO
