lemme clarify.... im understanding this bit by bit.... so... even if i have SLI 8800 gts with 4 x hard drives and 2 x dvd drives....

a 400W psu could handle all, as long as i have a high amp (30+ amps) on the 12 v rail ?

Well, no, because the total amperage depends on the total wattage. Like, your not going to find a 300w psu with 60a on the +12v rail, it's impossible. Read the PSU 101 & 102 sticky, it's all explained there.

help needed !! this is the only PSU ive seen in my area:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171001

cooler master real power... too bad i dont know how to read the specs..... but if im correct.... and add all amp on the 12v rail.... then it suffice... ryt ?

again... i would be using... (i have all available)

Intel E6600
Leadtek 8800 GTS
250 GB Seagate Barracuda (SATA)
Sony 18x DVD COmbo
2 GB Corsair Ram
P5B-E Plus

i would be adding in the future... a tuner card and stuffs...

would this be enough ? thanks alot !

alright ! im getting this thing bit by bit!! but... how did u get the total V ? so... 264W dividided by ? which part ? if i divide 264 by 20.5.... it would be 12.8... where did u get the 12.8 ?

also.... after reading the psu..... i assume that the 12v is for the VIDEO CARD SOLELY ryt ?

AAHHH !!! now i get it !! thats alryt dude !!

so i assume... that even with the 22amp still wont work ryt ?

by that.... and in the event i would use that... what consequence im up to ?? like.... my vid card wont work at all ?? or will some programs shut down after a while ??

about my question... the 12 v is for the Vid card ryt ??

and in the event the total wattage for the 12v is not indicated.... how will i compute for the total wattage ? thx alot !

stupid me... i might have skipped that part...

okay... in the event i would find something.. lets say.. 500 watts... and 30 A on the combined 12 v rails..... but.... its not a recognized BRAND.. lets say..... Hec..... would that be better than buying a branded psu with lesser amps on the combined rails ? thanks alot !

i do hope so the store has THAT !!! whew !!

by the way... how do you compute the total wattage on the 12v ? so that i can compute ?

and also my prev question.... if i find a non-branded psu with the complete specs..... would it be better than a low spec BRANDED psu ? thanks alot !!!!!!
