Hy there. As you all know, there are some good (very subjective)racing simulators around, either new or some 2-3 year old, such as NFS Carbon, Colin Mcrae 2005, Toca Race Driver 3, etc. I have done pretty intense racing in these games, but I never actually managed to record any of it, due to the lack of appopriate software.

I have tried a few, but only snagit 8 seems to be on par with what I need. However snagit 8 is power hungry, and my Core 2 Duo E6400 with 2 GB DDR2 coughs a little when running a game and recording at the same time, giving me less fps than usual.

What I want is a software to record both audio and video replays from games or actual races, without requiring too many resources, if there is any...thanks.

Have you tried growler guncam. It's pretty good at game video capture http://www.growlersoftware.com

I know it works well with Nascar 2003. Just make sure you have anti-aliasing turned off.

edit: worked for me with colin rally
