And when someone asked whether there will be enough graphics cards for beginning of shipments, Henry Richard answered that AMD had never been known for paper launches

Yet another sign of AMD losing its grasp on reality.

That was taken from http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video [...] 42624.html which discussed release dates for AMD's new graphics cards. Yeah yeah, I know this is the cpu board, but is Richard a dumb-azz douchebag or what?

I simply don't care. This is sort of mindless bashing about nothing surprising.

Well he'll look a right tit if they do paper launch.
They've held everything back so much a paper launch would just destroy them.

You do realize as marketing director, his job is to make an ass out of himself, correct? Intel's marketing department was the target of our ire back in the days when AMD had the lead.

Just let him spin his stuff. That's what he get paid for anyways.

Hector also stated in last weeks conference call "We don't do paper launches".

djgandy is right a paper launch would completely destroy their credibility just like the line "I promise no new taxes" destroyed George H. Bush's second term run against Clinton.

I guess we'll have to standardize the definition of paper launch. I'll start.

1) Good intentions and Unicorn wishes do not qualify as a valid launch.

I've made my input, whos next?

that's exactly the reason why companies go with Clovertown than the miraged K10.

AMD's paper launch trend dated way back to 4x4. i think BM can explain better than i do.
