Budget Gamer PC

I want to play CS:source, BF2142, BF2 and C&C3 not bothered about having max detail at high res i just want to blow stuff up.

I want to order this by friday so any help would be great.

I say budget as i only have £250 to upgrade my existing machine.
I already have a thermaltake 400W PSU, Hard Drive (SATA), DVD-RW & DVD-ROM and case.

So what i need is the best Mobo, Processor, Memory and Graphics card for my £250.

So far i've looked at
Intel D 930 processor with Abit SG95 1GB Ram and a 7900GS for about the £220 mark
or for £10 less
AMD AM2 64 x2 Processor, MSI mobo, 1GB Ram and 7900GS.


p.s. i need to order from Ebuyer only.

I would go with the AMD option, make sure you get an AM2 socket CPU and MOBO.

Well, of the 2 setups you posted, I would have to recommend the X2 setup.

I would look at a X2 3600+ Brisbane if I were you.

People have said that BF2 runs significantly better with 2 gigs of RAM.

I did the very same thing last week, I had £250 budget, it came to £235 in the end..I already have kick ass monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers so just needed the computer parts.

Hopefully will have it all by next week .

PS I've already got 1gb of RAM..

Yeah i know it runs better on 2GB and will buy the extra 1GB when i can aford it and the graphics card (another 2months or so)

go for the X2 system and like the other guy said make sure its AM2 good luck and trust me i fully understand the whole budget gaming system look at mine

You have serious hate issues toward AMD, don't you? Pentium D's are trash and will be beaten by almost any X2. Buying an inferior CPU makes me sad. Do you want that guilt on your shoulders?

Or he could go with the e4300....

He could, but he asked between the two. The E4300 would trash both of those choices unless he gets a higher end X2.
