Green screen while plaing videos?

While trying to play any type of video file (wmv, mpg, etc) I get a blank green screen and only the sound plays. For some reason, this happens with all media players, and ive tried everything, including reinstalling codecs. Nothing has worked so far, and ive read every topic on this that i can think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try turning off 'video acceleration' in the player's settings, or mess with your video card's 'overlay' settings. (right click on desktop -> properties -> settings -> 'advanced' button -> video card tab)
