i have a bfg manafactueres cooler. i just got a zalman can i swap between these two if needed or will it be a pain. does the thermal paste make the cooler stick

You can if the Zalman cooler is compatible with your card. And no, the thermal paste doesn't make it stick. Thermal paste is used to transfer heat from the GPU to the cooler efficiently.

They do make thermal exoxy but you don't want to use that for much of anything. You NEED a cooler that is specifically made for your card or series of cards or is compatible. Some coolers are made to work with MANY types of cards, others for a specific model.
