Hey there overclockers! 8O

I have been doing some overclocking and managed to get my Intel core

2 duo E6600 fairly stable at 3.6 Ghz, this with some help from a Zalman

CNPS9700 LED, which is an air cooling CPU fan. But as my voltage are

freking high at this speed, around 1.6 V, I went back to 3 Ghz. My biggest

concern is the motherboard, will it cope with this? I use an Asus P5BE.

I'll be thirilled with excitement if someone would answer me so I can start overclocking again.

My own honest opinion is dont try to overclock the FSB past 400mhz. Which is what you need on an e6600 to acheive 3.6Ghz. 1.6V is WAY WAY WAY to high for a chip. 1.5 is pushing it dude. If you are going to 1.5 you need to start thinking about a liquid cooling system. I've done this one a friends board and he is happty with it. I reduced the multiplier on his e6600 to x8 instead of x9 and set the bus to 400MHZ. This gives an effective overclock of 3.2GHz to the CPU. I think we only needd 1.4V for this. He has a good cooler as well.

What is happening that you can't use a lower voltage? I mean how are you testing? I also found that I had to increase my memory voltage when overclocking the CPU. My mem needs 2.0 v to sustaing the 400FSB instead of the stock 1.8V.
