Hello,

I have run the latest Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor 1.0 and it doesn't have any compatibility data on the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller on my Asus A8N-SLI motherboard. I went to Asus's website and they don't have any new drivers there.

Does anyone know what I should do at this point? I have emailed Asus but havn't heard from them, yet. Does anyone know if this network chip will work under Vista or if someone is working on a new Vista Driver?

Thanks,

David Peel

I have an Asus A8N-E and I didn't have any network problems. I had problems getting vista to detect all my SATA drives properly. My installation experience has been a nightmare.

I have to use vista now because I can't get back to XP. If something goes wrong with your vista installation you might get locked out of XP. Of course this is not a problem if you're not dual booting.

Anyway, I blame Asus. I'm noticing people with Asus boards are having disk issues.

Good luck to you.

I have an ASUS board - ASUS had no drivers but NVidia did for my onboard chipset.

As far as SATA issues, the current fix suggestion has been to uninstall just the NVidia Network Controller. After SATA is working, upgrade to the latest BIOS, download the NVidia drivers and reinstall the drivers - for most people this seems to work. Also, Maxtor hard disks have issues with the same controller, but there are no known workarounds that I am aware of.
