I went on vacation for a few weeks and had a lot of programs (most of
which were HD) set to record, the box was at about 50% useage when I
left. I intended to clear it down to about 10%, but forgot to do it
before I left. I return home to find the box has "crashed".

When I tried to access the DVR menu (hit the list button) I get a
message saying "Fatal Write Error". So I exchanged (TimeWarner makes
this easy enough). They told me this was a common problem and that the
new SA8300 fixes this problem.

I'm having nothing but problems with my SA8000HD, it likes rebooting sometimes when I'm recording stuff. It seems like it always wants to reboot when it's recording two things at once.

I didn't know about that SA8300HD. I just now called Time Warner here and they said they won't be getting them until January, which probably isn't true as they always lie about release dates.

I have trouble with mine while I am recording one thing and watching
another.

Hitting fast forward in the first 5 seconds of a playback seems to bother
it.
