While I am waiting for my last package to arrive from Newegg, I am trying to figure out the optimal way to do this:

I have the following SATA drives ready to install with this MB:

Seagate Barracuda 7200
Asus SATA DVD

The MB has four SATA connectors. I have read somewhere else that to place the HD on controller 0 and any SATA optical drive on any other available SATA connector.

Since I am not running a RAID, how do I configure in BIOS the SATA connectors? The manual with the MB is not that clear.

Simple, you don't. Find the SATA0 port (the manual comes in handy for this) and plug your HDD into it and plug in your optical drive wherever. Unless you want to configure a RAID array you generally won't have to configure any SATA settings in the BIOS.
