I have a complete noobie question here. Can't seem to find the info I am looking for so.....here it is.

Planning on building my first system and am hung up on a memory, cpu, fsb synch issue.

Looking at the MSI PN6 Platinum Sli at a fsb 1066mhz.

CPU would be Intel e6700 1066mhz fsb support

I know memory can run at slower speeds, but, for the money, what speed would be beneficial now if I don't overclock? (The memory speeds are confusing me regarding 800 being 400x2 etc. Please explain.)

Also, from what I have read, two sticks would be slightly more beneficial than 4. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for helping a guy out.

You should get DDR2 533 memory to run at stock speeds.
Two sticks will run a little faster than 4 sticks of the same amount of memory.

Or not, depending on the MB design. The main advantage is having empty slots left over for future memory expansion.
