hey im sorry if this has already been answered in another thread.

i have recently been having problems with my windows xp computer not turning off, when i attempt to shut it down normally, (start, shutdown, shutdown) it does everything normal from logging off, saving your setting, then it gets to windows is shutting down, the thing is it doesn't actually shut down.. it just stays on that part.

before this started happening i had been holding in the off key for a few seconds to turn it off if i was to lazy to turn it off properly..

help would be appreciated.

thanks.

Good chance Windows got corrupted. I'd try a restore to a time this wasn't a problem and worse case reinstall Windows You could also try to do a repair from the installation disk but I've never had much luck with this but I'd try it before doing a new install
