I'm planning to build a system to the following specs:

ASUS P5B Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo e6420
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro HSF
2 x 1GB G.Skill DDR2-800 HZ Series
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
1 x Sapphire Radeon X1950XT 256MB
1 x Samsung Spinpoint 500GB SATA2 HDD
1 x DVD-ROM Drive
1 x DVR-RW Drive
1 x 120mm and 1 x 80mm Case Fans

Will the above setup be able to run on this PSU:

You are buying a pretty good system. If you plan on overclocking you will definitely need a very good PSU. Don't be fooled into skimping on the PSU.

The PSU is one component that you buy and should not have to replace for a long time.

As mentioned, Antec & Seasonic are usually good brands. Though Antec does make some really cheap PSU's. A safe bet is not to spend less than around 70-80 US dollars or probably around £35-40.

The NeoHE from Antec are very good as well as the Energy Plus series from Seasonic. Other brands to consider: Thermaltake, Enermax, OCZ, Corsair. I would say PC Power & Cooling but this is a premium PSU and pretty expensive.

Hopefully you will find one of these PSU's.

Btw, what case are you planning on getting?

No no no no... no! Don't crap that system out by going with one of those terrible power supplies. If you are on a budget, then go with the e6320 and get something like this with the money you save. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/120377/rb/27282108738

Thanks for your replies.

The case I've bought is the Jeantech GMax, should be okay.. shouldn't it?

Pretty new to PSUs tbh, used to judge them by power rating alone. I wasn't really planning to spend more than £25-30, but it sounds like you get what you pay for with PSUs, so I'm willing to pay ~£50.

Which of the following would be the best buy, do you guys think?

cool case, screwless drive bays are nice. Seems to have 2 x 80mm front fans double-barrel style - to hard to tell by the pic. The rear fan looks like a 80mm also (I would probably mod it for a 120 :p ) Hopefully it's a free-flowing vented front panel w/ foam filter (a la Centurion 5 :) )

I would pick either the igreen or the earthwatts. Either of those you can't go wrong.

Nah, only one 80mm on the front and another 80mm on the rear. Double barrel woulda been cool, but doesn't seem to be enough room. Will probably replace the front with a 120mm though.

But yeah, it's a free-flowing front panel with the filter, and this was the deal maker for me, because the dust level in my room is sickening, and the inside of my current (unfiltered) system isn't a pretty sight. And neither are the temperature readings!

I think I'll probably go for the iGreen because of the positive reviews (and because it looks cooler) :D
