New MS Office update ruined MS Office

I'm only writing here as a last resort, but I'll be brief.
I let automatic update, update MS office 2003 for XP MCE 2005, and after the update MSWord would freeze everytime I typed the word "do". As you can imagine, its hard to use word without the word "do", so I decided to try and reinstall the office suite, but it would encounter a critical error everytime. Now I'm stuck not being able to reinstall it, nor remove it, and as a student I kinda need it. I tried manually removing files, same error and now I'm just plain stuck.

Any help would be awsome, and for future warning for others, don't update MS office 2003!!!

Thanks Grumpy....I ended up stumbling on that just now...seems to work fine now.
