I updated my bios then went and made all the necessary changes but i forgot to change my hard drives back to ahci instead of ide. I booted up windows and it loaded the drivers for the ide controller or whatever and worked but i immediately rebooted and changed to ahci in the bios.

the main problem is now ever since then when windows boots it shows that icon in my taskbar. i know how to get rid of it as far as going into the properties then advanced and unchecking it, but every time i reboot it appears again.

Are both of your drives SATA drives and if so do you have them set up in a RAID configuration? If yes how? (Raid 0,1,0+1,5,10)

The icon for power management is for what specifically?

Both are SATA but theyre not setup as RAID. The icon just shows the power cord as if it was a laptop plugged in.
