Does anyone know if Cingular will offer any rate plan specials or phone
deals to kick off the new year? I am getting ready to switch from AT&T
as I need to upgrade my phone. I am also currently without a contract.

I think the dust will settle first on the holiday promotions before any new
promotions are offered, and holiday promotions are typically about as good as
it gets.

There's a free phone promotion on the Cingular website now.

As I recall, there was a $50 mail-in rebate on the Motorola V551 that was good
through the end of the year.
