i just got one of these cards for my comp the other day it has a 6 pin power connection on the card but it didn't come with a cable and my power supply doesn't have a cable like that i was wondering if i buy a cable will it make the card better cause it runs without being plugged into the power?

If you don't connect the cable, you will get a nice error message telling you to connect the cable when you switch on your PC.

You need one of these:

Compare your performance to other benchmarks online. If yours is falling short it is due to a lack of power.

That's interesting. Does the HIS X1650 XT iSilence II need it? I don't have it plugged in and my machine still works.

1650xt doesnt NEED to be plugged in aslong as your PCI-e gives it enough juice.

IE if it turns on its all good...

I have a motherboard that has a molex connector not too far from the video card and I read in the manual that it feeds the video card. It's plugged in and I've played games like BF2 so I know there's no problem with it working.

I just thought it was odd mine doesn't have a connector directly on the card. But, that may be partly due to the fact that the fanless cooling is pretty large.
