Hi all,

I have a friend who I talked into getting a Dell Axim X30. She wants to use
her pop account and I have gotten her setup. Her settings are to send and
receive every 60 minutes. However, she has a Blue Tooth connection for her
phone set up. Everytime her device goes to wake up to check email (she leaves
her wifi on so it can do this) the device takes too long to find the wifi
signal and the device tries to connect with the bluetooth. However, the
bluetooth is not what she wants to use and it won't connect anyhow because it
is disabled.

Yet, the send and receive then doesn't work because she will go back to her
screen after a couple of house to see the bluetooth sign in password screen
displayed stuck there because the device doesn't wait for wifi to engage
which it does after about 8-10 sec.

Should I tell her to wipe off the Bluetooth connection so it doesn't try to
use it. Or is there some way to tell the device not to try Bluetooth
connection if it can't see wifi connection right away?

Thanks,
Shezageek

Personally I would be inclined not to leave the WiFi on for this
because it could run the battery down very quickly if the device comes
on and hangs for some reason. If she is manually using WiFi, checking
POP email should be very fast. I have my mail set up to go
automatically but I have a phone device and using GPRS, it can be
slow, so having it do that automatically saves time. When in an WiFi
environment, I don't bother because checking email is nearly instant.

To your question, you could have her whack the BT connection, but then
if she wants to use it because there is no WiFi, she'll have to
reconfigure it.
