Ive tried searching and what not... but cant find muc. Im setting up a software RAID in Windows xp pro (with windows software) and as you all know I cant have the installed Windows on this RAID.

So my question is, how can I move a lot of the folders that are by default in the C:\ drive onto my RAID (a partition on same HDD as Windows, and another HDD) to help the performance of windows.

This kinda seems what I would need... but Im not gonna pay for a program to do this... I either want freeware or instructions on how to do it with the regedit. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,7822,00.asp

You can move the My Documents folder to the Raid by right clicking on My documents and selecting properties then move.
You can install all your programs on the raid. For installed programs you may have to uninstall then reinstall them. Some can be moved and then change the location in the shortcut, but that doesnt always work.
Swap file can be moved.
All the system files will need to stay put as far as I know.
